Dr. Li graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and worked in the Silicon Valley startup industry prior to pursuing medicine. He then earned his medical degree from the State University of New York, Downstate followed by his ophthalmology residency at New York University and glaucoma fellowship at Columbia University Harkness Eye Institute. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, cataract surgery, and the medical and surgical management of glaucoma.

Dr. Li is on teaching staff at New York University where he is involved in both the medical and surgical training of the ophthalmology residents. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and American Glaucoma Society.
