Julie Song, OD
Dr. Julie Song, an Arizona native, earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the SUNY (New York) College of Optometry. Dr. Song graduated with five awards and as a member of 2 honorary societies, notably the Johnson and Johnson Excellence Award for Excellence in Clinical Contact Lenses and the Dr. Frederick W. Brock Memorial Award for Outstanding Clinical Performance as Class President for all four years of optometry school.
Dr. Song further subspecialized in residency in Cornea and Contact Lens. Following her residency, she became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society.
Dr. Julie Song is a specialist in contact lens fitting. She has mastered a wide spectrum of contact lens fitting, including the most complex cases, which are often referred to her by other practitioners. She understands and has successfully met the challenges of difficult contact lens fitting, which includes post-surgical eyes (following cataract surgery or corneal transplant), diseased corneas, irregular and thinning corneal disorders, high to moderate astigmatism, severe dry eyes, extreme myopia, and refractive errors, among others.
She specializes in fitting scleral, gas-permeable, piggyback system, hybrid, soft, and plastic prosthetic lenses, as well as orthokeratology and custom soft contact lenses.
In her free time, Dr. Song enjoys trying new restaurants, progressing toward her reading goal on Goodreads, playing board games and puzzles, baking, watching Bake Off, traveling, eating ice cream, attending concerts, and spending time with her friends.
Dr Song speaks fluent Mandarin & conversational Spanish.
